Monumental building from the 17th century turned into a modern house
Old buildings have the charm of some fascinating old times, the astonishing architectural pattern of that specific flow and impress with their power of immovability everybody.Instead some of them have suffered all kinds of changes due to the purposes that were imposed to serve. Still there are cases when some restorations brought them more than celebrity and much more than durability.
View in gallery In Utrecht, Netherlands, at that place is a monumental building from 17thursday century that was transformed from "Nicolai church building" and now it represents a contemporary business firm called the House Nieuwegracht.Originally, this monumental edifice consisted of 2 parts: the front business firm and the dorsum house, plus the garden.
In fourth dimension, it has suffered many changes which transformed it into a edifice with many divided areas. The clients asked the firm, Rocha Architects to create them a unitary space where they could alive and bring them a lot of natural lite inside.

View in gallery Initially, the living spaces were situated on the extreme facades of the house while the middle areas represented a fundamental barrier between them and the other spaces.Thus some inside walls were removed so that the house could become a unitary place and more than natural lite could invade the firm. A front to dorsum continuous organic closet was designed to connect the front and back sides of the business firm besides.

View in gallery It is a house which looks more like an institution or a company, as its entire white interiors make you recollect of offices. The spotlights, the curved walls and the mod materials used complete this official pattern of the business firm.Bathroom is the but place where nuances of green and blueish add some colour to the firm. You may also notice the natural woods parquet which contrasts the white walls and the nighttime woods vintage pieces of furniture which announced on the halls as some decorative items or things that remind you of the monumental old building.
